When will Rocketman be released on Blu-ray and DVD?
The Elton John biopic Rocketman was released on May 31st in theaters and absolutely destroyed the box office, when will we be blessed to add the Blu-ray or DVD to our movie libraries?
After the surprising success and Oscar run of the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, movie-goers eagerly awaited another film detailing the life of Elton John. Rocketman was released in theaters at the end of May and received nearly unanimous praise.
Following the life of Elton John, the film stars Taron Egerton as the popular British singer and includes many of the most popular songs in his repertoire. Egerton has also received rave reviews for his portrayal of Elton John.
The film is even noted to have made Elton John himself cry during its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Rocketman is sure to receive plenty of love once Oscar season rolls around. So when can we expect to see the film in its entirety on Blu-ray & DVD?
Rocketman is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray/DVD on August 27th, 2019 and will be available to own in Digital form from Amazon & iTunes on August 6th, 2019. The physical copy of the film will include up to 75 minutes of bonus content including the following:

- It’s also been announced that the Blu-ray will include something called a Jukebox that allows the viewer to skip forward during the movie and only watch the musical sequences.
If this isn’t enough to convince you to buy the movie upon its release, there will be a number of collector’s editions, steelbooks, and other versions of the film available upon its release. Of course, Best Buy will be producing a Limited Edition steelbook that features an incredible cover. Walmart, as well, will be featuring a steelbook with its own artwork based on the film.
If you’d like to wait even longer for a collector’s edition of the steelbook, the website Zavvi will be releasing its own steelbook on September 30, 2019. All editions of the steelbook range from $34.99 to $37.99.
And as always, the film will be available from all other normal retailers like Amazon, Target, and Barnes & Noble through online ordering or in stores. It will be available in DVD form for around $17.99 and Blu-ray for about $22.99. All are great prices for a Blu-ray that seems to be packed full of extra content and fun features.
