Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is now playing in theaters. Will you be watching the latest horror movie this weekend?

A new horror movie has arrived, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is now playing in theaters everywhere. Have you already checked out the movie? Adults who grew up reading the horror books are the most excited about the movie. But we will also be the audience who judge the movie the most. Afterall, it needs to bring back our childhood fears we felt when we read the books.

You may remember some of the stories from the books, and even if you don’t, the images are unforgettable. I would argue the images are more haunting than the stories themselves. It’s really what stuck as a kid reading these books.

Having watched the movie, I can say the monsters live up to the hype. They are as haunting as the books and it’s wonderfully frightening seeing them come to live. Though the story does lack heart, you’ll enjoy it just fine if you’re there for the nostalgia and creatures.

The movie is set in 1968 and follows Stella (Zoe Colletti) and her friends (Auggie, portrayed by Gabriel Rush, Chuck, played by Austin Zajur, and new kid in town Ramon, played by Michael Garza) who walk into a haunted house with an interesting story behind it. As an aspiring horror writer, Stella find a book in the house and brings it home with her, even though the book belongs to an alleged child murderer.

It’s not long before they realize the book is writing stories in real-time, targeting each one of them with their own story that’ll lead to their deaths. Will any of them be able to escape? You’ll have to tune in to find out!
