Here are 10 movies to watch if you miss The Walking Dead (and where to watch):

28 Days LaterYou’ll find 28 Days Later on the list of many zombie horrors. This is because it’s one of the best post-apocalyptic movies of all-time. A total classic that still holds up today. Not to mention, it’s probably one of the most frightening on this list. For some thrills and guts, watch 28 Days Later! Watch free on Starz.

Dawn of the Dead: Much like 28 Days LaterDawn of the Dead is a classic! It premiered around the same time as the above, too, it’s clearly always the time for a good zombie horror. Rent it here.

I Am Legend: Will Smith stars in this emotional post-apocalyptic thriller that truly pulls at your heartstrings. It mainly only features Smith’s character and his dog, but that’s all the film needs to truly set in some frights. Rent it here.

Resident Evil franchise: If you get into one of the movies from the Resident Evil franchise, you are in for a long (and exciting) weekend! These movies are great and if you’re searching for some girl power, this is your series. The movies are available at Starz with a subscription.

The Road: The Road, which you can watch on Showtime for free if you have a subscription, will remind you a lot of Rick and Carl.

Night of the Living DeadYou can watch Night of the Living Dead on Starz or Tubi for free with a subscription (though I believe Tubi has it for absolutely no strings attached). This one isn’t as fast paced as the others, but great nonetheless!

Contagion: You’ll have to rent Contagion if you wish to see it (do it here), but it’s worth your while if you’re a fan of the post-apocalyptic world. It features a great cast, which includes Jude Law, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Crazies: This movie throws a fun spin at the tired zombie premise. Watch it free on Hulu. The Crazies stars Timothy Olyphant, Danielle Panabaker, and others.

A Quiet Place: Also at Hulu, you’ll find John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place, the award-winning drama horror that will leave you scared and depressed! No spoilers, you’ll have to watch this one yourself.

Mad Max franchise: Here’s another franchise for you to sink your teeth into! Rent the Mad Max movies at Amazon.
