Mindhunter: 5 Shows to watch if you love Netflix’s crime drama series
By Sandy C.
If you finished watching the latest season of Mindhunter and crave more crime-drama, here are five other Netflix shows to check out!
Mindhunter never fails to keep audiences completely engaged in the concept, subplots, and all the intriguing characters. Not caught up on all the episodes available now on Netflix? Please note there are significant spoilers ahead! Finish your binge-watch before reading ahead…
The second season of Mindhunter brought us new interviews with convicted murderers while toying with the idea that something is wrong with Bill Tench’s son, Brian. We also realized (though most of us knew this) the profiles Bill and Holden are gathering won’t always prove to be right. For the most part, sure, serial killers will match in personality traits and habits. But, as the BTK Killer has demonstrated, evil minds don’t all work the same.
If you are craving more mysteries, unsolved cases, and drama, here are 5 other shows on Netflix we recommend you check out!
The Sinner: This isn’t a Netflix Original, but both seasons of The Sinner are available to stream. The anthology crime mystery follows two different stories. The first season sees Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) investigating the case of a troubled woman (Jessica Biel) who fatally stabs a man at the beach. She, however, doesn’t understand or can even remember what drove her to killing the unsuspecting victim.
More from Netflix
- Bridgerton season 3: All the details to know about Penelope and Colin’s love story
- It’s a slow week on Netflix with only three new releases (Nov. 20)
- Exploding Kittens: From card game to Netflix animated series starring Tom Ellis
- The Crown and more Netflix shows and movies to stream this week (November 13)
- Escaping Twin Flames and more harrowing love-centered documentaries to watch on Netflix
In Season 2, the same detective, Ambrose, takes on the case of a young boy (Elisha Henig) who confesses to poisoning a couple. Ambrose begins to unveil deep hidden secrets in the town. The Sinner is a fictional series, but engaging and wrapped in mystery.
Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes: Ted Bundy tells his own story in his own words through the tapes two journalists gathered. The doc. holds over 100 hours of interviews, told in four 60-minute episodes. For more on Ted Bundy, you can also check out the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile movie starring Zac Efron.
Inside the Criminal Mind: Very much like Mindhunter, Netflix’s Inside the Criminal Mind shows viewers a glimpse of what goes on in the minds of murderers and violent men. Each episode features a different criminal such as serial killers and cult leaders.
The People vs. O.J. Simpson: You have all heard about the case, but The People vs O.J. Simpson, which aired on FX, offers a deeper look into what may have happened, what investigators missed, and how police and justice failed.

Dexter: Unlike other shows on this list, Dexter (a Showtime original) is completely fictional. If you missed it when it premiered on its home network, you have to give it a shot on Netflix! It’s not a true story, sure, but it’s just as interesting and will have you rooting for the serial killer, which you can’t say the same for all other murderers on the list.
From all the shows mentioned here, which will you be checking out? Is there another series we missed that’s both on Netflix and has Mindhunter vibes? Be sure to let us know!
Mindhunter Season 1 and Season 2 are streaming on Netflix.
