Grand Hotel actress joins Roswell, New Mexico: Who will she play?
By Mads Lennon
Grand Hotel actress Justina Adorno, who plays Yoli on the ABC series, has joined the cast of Roswell, New Mexico for a recurring role in season two!
You may recognize Justina Adorno as the fan-favorite character Yoli on ABC’s current hot summer drama, Grand Hotel. Now she’s leaping into the world of extraterrestrials with a recurring role on the upcoming second season of CW series, Roswell, New Mexico.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Adorno’s Roswell character, named Steph, is a “witty, sharp-tongued, well-educated young woman, who isn’t afraid to express her opinions — even though they tend toward controversial in some circles. Steph never apologizes for being her entire self.”

Reportedly, Adorno’s first episode will be the very second one in the upcoming sophomore season. We won’t have to wait long to see how Steph fits into the group. Speaking of, we have some theories of what Steph’s new role might be.
Season one ended with the tragic death of one of the show’s leads, Max. But, odds are, Max is going to come back in some capacity. That said, his death leaves a vacancy at the sheriff’s station. Could Steph be there to fill in for him? Or, potentially, for Cam?
Cam’s character left town (likely due to actress Riley Voelkel being cast in an upcoming STARZ series). Even if Max is back in action faster than anticipated, that would still leave an opening for a new partner.
The character description for Steph makes her sound like a handful. Someone who isn’t afraid of being “controversial.” Will she be a new antagonistic presence on the series? Perhaps she’s a new hire at the bar and will work alongside Maria.
It should also be noted that her character, Yoli, on Grand Hotel is gay. Could Roswell, New Mexico be introducing an LGBTQ+ female character in Steph? Of course, just because Adorno played gay on Grand Hotel doesn’t mean she will on Roswell too, but it is a possibility.
Either way, I like Adorno’s acting, and Steph sounds like an excellent addition to the Roswell cast. I look forward to seeing how she fits in.
