Two Sentence Horror Stories: Most teachable moments from Tutorial
By Sandy C.
Two Sentence Horror Stories season 1, episode 6, Tutorial, is the CW’s horror series most fun episode so far! Let’s discuss by breaking down its most teachable moments.
While previous episodes of CW’s latest series, Two Sentence Horror Stories, has been delivering impactful narratives that all carry an important message, the show does something different in “Tutorial.” This episode, more than anything, is meant to be fun, while also keeping fans on the edge of their seats as the story develops. But, overall, it’s a good time, and we are left laughing instead of applying the moral of the story into our daily lives as we do in previous episodes.
This isn’t to say we didn’t enjoy “Tutorial,” on the contrary, I love how Two Sentence Horror Stories throws a fun spin at their usual format. It keeps things fresh and I hope to see more of these episodes sprinkled in moving forward.
Spoiler alert: Please note there are spoilers ahead if you missed and haven’t watched Two Sentence Horror Stories Season 1, Episode 6, “Tutorial.” Watch the episode first before reading ahead.
1. Lock your doors (and windows): “Tutorial” kicks off with a bright and fun young woman welcoming viewers to her channel and commencing to do a makeup tutorial. We’ve all seen this! Whether we tuned in for ourselves or not, makeup tutorials have been watched by all at one point or another and are increasingly popular.

The sentence this story begins with is: “I didn’t lock my door that night.”
Audiences instantly begin to assume this beauty guru (portrayed by Aleyse Shannon) is about to be in danger. Sure enough, a man with a hoodie rings the doorbell not even one minute into her tutorial and the horror begins. We assume, naturally, that this is a home invasion episode. But we could not have been more wrong.
Two Sentence Horror Stories is not about to give us the tired intruder storyline. What develops is a lot more troubling (and fun).
2. Have a security system in place: The episode is told through the makeup vlogger’s webcam and hidden cameras around the house. We applaud that her home is secured…but why isn’t she checking the footage after hearing the doorbell and strange noises in the attic? You would think this is the first thing someone does when they are home alone. This is when we learn things are not what they seem.
