Younger: 5 burning questions for Season 7

Younger ended Season 6 on a major cliffhanger for Liza and Charles’ relationship. What does the future hold? Here’s five burning questions for Season 7.
Never underestimate a Younger season finale’s capacity to leave our jaws on the floor and us wanting more. Following a sixth season full of professional upheaval and renewed romantic tensions in the central love triangle, the finale dropped a bomb that no one anticipated — not even Liza. But that cliffhanger surprise isn’t the only question we have for Season 7.
After Kelsey resolves to leave Millennial in favor of a solo endeavor in the publishing world, she’s torn between aligning with a former frenemy and considering a sweet deal that’s almost too good to be true. Plus, Younger hints at the rekindling of multiple relationships and makes us wonder whether Season 7 will close the book forever. What’s in store next season?
Here are five burning questions we want answered. (Warning: Spoilers from the Season 6 finale ahead.)
1. Will Liza say yes?
Finally, our prediction that Charles would pop the question came true in the Season 6 finale. As Diana’s wedding reception winds down, Charles amends his invitation for Liza to join his family vacation to Scotland, referring to it as a honeymoon. He continues with a romantic marriage proposal.

Before Liza can even form a response, she’s first interrupted by Kelsey and then everyone else. A sea of their friends divides Charles, who looks hopeful, and Liza, who looks dumbfounded. Will Liza hastily accept his proposal or give him a maybe?
2. Are there strings attached to Kelsey’s new deal?
Word spreads quickly about Kelsey’s resignation from Millennial, and no one’s keen on losing a family member from the company. But she believes it’s time to move on and start her own publishing house. She turns to Quinn for funding, which prompts Charles to sweeten the deal for Kelsey’s return. He offers her part of his shares in the company and a seat on the board, effectively granting her ownership of Millennial. It takes some mulling over, but Kelsey accepts the deal. Still, we have to wonder: Will this work out as seamlessly as she expects?
3. Is Josh back in the game?
Throughout Season 6, Josh’s feelings for Liza seemed to have returned in full force. Liza, too, managed to weather a conflicted heart despite her stable relationship with Charles. But is #TeamJosh back in the game for Season 7?
Try as she might, Liza’s “Dear John” letter didn’t completely sever their relationship. Josh approaches Liza at Diana’s wedding about the licensing of the tattoo he designed for her, which she considers and asks that he not make “their” tattoo mainstream. Obviously, Josh plays a role in Liza’s proposal pause, but just how much?
4. Are Lauren and Maggie rekindling?
Kelsey and Zane aren’t the only couple pressing the restart button in Younger Season 7. After completing her duties as Diana’s unofficial wedding planner, Lauren muses that she and Maggie could be rekindling their seasons ago romance. It wouldn’t be the worst idea, since Maggie has been striking out in the love and sex department lately, and Lauren has been focused on manning the social ship at Millennial. Could Lauren and Maggie (Laggie? Mauren?) be endgame?

5. Will Season 7 be the final chapter?
Let’s face it: Many of Season 6’s stories stretched the narrative to it’s sharpest corners, and the finale sure seemed to set up a can’t-miss final season of Younger. Between Lauren and Maggie’s reunion, Kelsey’s return to Millennial, and Charles’ marriage proposal (not to mention, Hilary Duff’s revival of Lizzie McGuire), it’s tough to see a future beyond Season 7 without the series growing stale. Could the series be signing off next year, or is there still plenty of gas left in the tank to sustain Younger for seasons to come?
