Missing Big Little Lies? Here are five other shows to dive into now that the star-studded drama is over!
HBO’s hit series Big Little Lies has concluded, and fans still find themselves missing the drama each Sunday. The star-studded series features a brilliant cast and, even though was a slow burn for the most part, the acting was always stellar and fun to watch. The season 2 finale left us wanting more and feels undeveloped, but after so many great episodes, it’s tough to be mad at the series.
It has been confirmed that a third season won’t be happening. Well, at least not any time soon. With how busy these ladies are, I don’t see how anything can come together in the next several years. And, by the time everyone has freed their schedules, it may be too late. Let’s just remember the mini-series for the two seasons it gave us.
Still, if you’re missing an amazing drama with a talented cast, here are five shows you need to be watching.
Sharp Objects: The best thing about Sharp Objects (well, there are several things) is that this is also a mini-series. Unlike Big Little Lies, however, Sharp Objects is only one season and it has already wrapped up so you can watch all episodes now on HBO.

The psychological thriller is based on Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name. The story follows Camille (Amy Adams), a reporter who is ordered to return to her hometown to investigate the disappearances of two girls. Little does she know, this mystery hits very close to home. It’s a slow, but very satisfying burn.
The Handmaid’s Tale: It took me a while to watch Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, but once I did, I was completely addicted and determined to binge-watch all three seasons immediately! This show is amazing. Also based on the novel of the same name, Handmaid’s Tale is a dystopian drama series that takes place after a second American Civil War. Fertile women are “Handmaids” and subjected into child-bearing servitude.
Many topics and stories will make you angry, it’s a series with a lot of passion and eye-opening issues. The cast includes the amazing Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer and others. So far there have been three seasons and there’s one more on the way! It’s rumored season 4 is the last one, but we’ll see!
Westworld: Equally as captivating is Westworld, also on HBO. Westworld follows a fictional world where advanced technology has given birth to droids that populate a large park where wealthy people can visit and do as they please. It is intended for those who can afford it to live and indulge in their darkest fantasies, including rape and murder (on the droids). But what happens when the droids realize what they are?
The Affair: Dominic West and Ruth Wilson star in Showtime’s The Affair, a series that follows their characters, who are both married to different people, commence an affair. They have their own reasons for cheating and become entangled in a bigger story. Each episode is split in two parts, following Noah’s (West) side of the story as well as Alison’s (Wilson) point of view.
Killing Eve: Catch up on both seasons of Killing Eve on Hulu if you haven’t started watching already. Just like Big Little Lies, the BBC America/AMC drama is captivating and follows two amazing ladies, Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. The drama has earned the series several awards, including a Golden Globe for Best Performance (Oh). Eve (Oh) and Villanelle (Comer) are in a game of cat and mouse after Eve is tasked with finding and killing Villanelle, a psychopathic assassin who is hunting Eve.
