When it was announced that Sarah Paulson would not appear in American Horror Story: 1984, fans mourned the end of an era. From an empathetic medium to a Supreme witch, Paulson enchanted viewers throughout the previous eight seasons of AHS. Season 9 of the show will have to carry on without her. Or will it?
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Paulson oozed enthusiasm about the upcoming season of American Horror Story, even though she does not have a starring role in it. She followed the nod to the show with a juicy tease.
"“I’ll be watching and cheering everybody on. I’m really excited for the season. I think it’s a really cool idea for the show this year. And you never know, I may pop up.”"

Sarah Paulson brings substance to every character she portrays. What would her possible mystery role entail?
Based on the trailer (video at the bottom), American Horror Story:1984 appears to be a slasher story set on the backdrop of a campground. There are a few possibilities for how Sarah Paulson’s role could be incorporated into the narrative.
Sarah Paulson as “The Victim”
This season of AHS looks like it may become a bloodbath. If she indeed appears, could Sarah Paulson’s character die an epic death at the hands of the killer?
Sarah Paulson as “The Wise Advisor”
Paulson could make her mark as a wary townie, traumatized survivor, or clairvoyant outsider who warns sex-crazed counselors to stay away from the lake, or else!
Sarah Paulson as “The Campground Killer”
The producers could create a scenario in which Paulson’s character is revealed to be the killer. AHS fans love Sarah Paulson. And in this case, we would love to fear her!
If Sarah Paulson appears in American Horror Story: 1984, does that mean Evan Peters could too?
Like Paulson, Evan Peters also appeared in the first eight seasons of AHS. To fans’ dismay, he announced earlier this year that he would not appear in American Horror Story: 1984. Could he change his mind?
