Cassandra Jean Amell joins Roswell, New Mexico cast: Who will she play?

Cassandra Jean Amell is returning to The CW. She’s set to recur as an alien refuge in the upcoming Season 2 of Roswell, New Mexico.

Despite the fact Roswell, New Mexico isn’t due to return until winter 2020 at the earliest, it hasn’t stopped The CW from releasing exciting casting news!

We recently learned that Grand Hotel star, Justina Adorno, would be joining the series in a recurring role. Now, The Hollywood Reporter states that Cassandra Jean Amell has been cast as an alien refuge in the upcoming second season.

According to THR, her character is named Louise. She came to Roswell in 1947. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because it is the same year as the real UFO incident that took place in Roswell.

However, Roswell, New Mexico is very much set in modern-day. It looks like Amell’s character will be appearing in a series of flashbacks. That means we can anticipate whatever happened in 1947 will be relevant to the characters in the present-day.

The article goes on to explain that Louise is unable to find the sanctuary she anticipated. She considers herself a pacifist, but “when she’s separated from her kids, she has no choice but to fight to protect them at all costs.”

I’ll be curious to see if Louise winds up being alive still after all this time. Could we wind up seeing her in the current Roswell, New Mexico timeline? At present, her role is listed as recurring, but the article doesn’t report when she will make her debut or how many episodes she is slated to appear.

This isn’t the first time that Cassandra Jean Amell has appeared on The CW. She played the role of Nora Fries on Supergirl and Arrow, she also guest-starred on One Tree Hill. Before that, she was perhaps best known for competing in America’s Next Top Model.
