6. Chicago Fire

When it returns: The longest-running One Chicago show returns on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c on NBC, as the middle show in the One Chicago lineup.

Season it’s on: This series is entering its eighth season when it returns as part of the fall TV lineup next week.

Why watch it: Wednesdays are busy for fall TV. Chicago Fire is one of the shows you’ll need to check out. When SEAL Team returns, you’ll need to decid which one you’ll watch live and which one you’re going to DVR for later.

Next week, there’s only one show to choose, and that’s this one. The oldest One Chicago series will pick up with plenty of drama, lots of high-risk saves, and a multitude of laughs. One thing I’d love to see, though, is more focus on the saves, especially with a smaller cast at the time. Some of my favorite episodes have been when the storyline has been focused on one big save, like the women dealing with the hockey bus crash last season.

5. Arrow

When it returns: The longest-running Arrowverse series returns on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9/8c.

Season it’s on: Arrow will return for its eighth and final season on The CW.

Why watch it: Just the fact that it’s the final season is enough to watch this show. There are 10 episodes left of the entire series, and that means a lot of returning faces and some connections to earlier seasons. One of the latest reveals is that Willa Holland will return as Thea Queen throughout the season.

You know you need to see how the show ends. This is your chance to do so when you tune in after The Flash.
