Jared Padalecki has been named as the lead in the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot. Supernatural fans are confused considering why SPN is ending.
“This here is Walker. He’s a Texas Ranger.” It turns out Supernatural predicted Jared Padalecki’s future role all the way back in Season 6. However, hearing that the SPN actor is moving onto a new project has left some of the SPN Family confused and hurt.
We all know why our series is ending after 15 brilliant seasons. The stars wanted to spend more time with their families. So, doesn’t taking on a new role counter that?

Well, not quite. What was the problem for the stars was the travel between Austin, Texas and Vancouver, where the show films. Considering the nature of TV and acting jobs, not all actors will want to move their families to another country. They want their families to create a home and they can visit when they can.
Padalecki is tipped to star in the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot, and naturally, fans are upset. If he’s moving onto another acting project, surely that means the want to be with family excuse was a lie. However, it’s important to point out that filming for the original series was done in Texas. In Dallas to be exact.

There are high chances that Jared Padalecki made sure the same would be the case for the reboot. He wouldn’t sign onto something that would take him back to Vancouver (and it wouldn’t look like Texas if they were filming in the wet climate of Canada’s west coast!) and he likely wouldn’t have accepted something that filmed in L.A. or even Georgia (some CW shows film there) either.
It takes about three hours to get from Dallas to Austin by car, but an hour by plane. This could be a friendly commute—and that’s if filming takes place in Dallas again. It could take place around Austin, instead!
I get that Supernatural fans are upset, but it’s worth noting that Jared Padalecki never said that he wanted to quit acting completely. It’s possible that the right project has come up that allows him to work and be with his family at the same time.
