Marc Evan Jackson talks Sean’s favorite hell torture, The Good Place: The Podcast
Marc Evan Jackson teases The Good Place Season 4, reveals Sean’s favorite hell torture, and shares the real reason why he loves The Good Place: The Podcast.
When we caught up with Marc Evan Jackson ahead of The Good Place Season 4 premiere, and we promise we tried to get some teasers, but Jackson has his own version of the new season to share. “The whole thing is a lie. Nothing is real. The show hasn’t started yet,” he joked. “I could explain to you word for word, everything that happens in Season 4, and it wouldn’t make any sense.” We believe you, Marc Evan Jackson. We believe you.
Jackson plays Sean, everyone’s love-to-hate Bad Place demon ringleader, a character who has some of the most outrageous and comical dialogue on the series.
“It’s a ridiculous situation to be able to get a script the night before a table reader or whenever, and thumb through it and go like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to say these words’,” Jackson said. “You get the scripts and can’t wait to get to work the next day to go say this out loud in front of people and put it on camera.”
We couldn’t chat with Jackson without also asking about The Good Place: The Podcast, which is an amazing show the dives deeper into the comedy series. “It’s so gratifying to get to play with and chat with people at the top of their game of all departments,” Jackson said.
“And, you know, Mike Schur is a ‘best idea wins’ guy. And so, it doesn’t matter what department has the idea. It doesn’t matter if it’s somebody that’s, you know, at the top of their career or new to set. He listens… He empowers everybody to reach and to strive, and it’s been a real lesson in humanity to host this podcast and get to talk with all these people.”
