Survivor: Island of the Idols premiered Wednesday night on CBS. With Survivor underway, that got us thinking about which Survivor stars we would love to see try their hand at Big Brother.
Survivor: Island of the Idols premiered Wednesday night on CBS. The 39th edition of Survivor features Survivor legends “Boston” Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine serving as mentors to 20 new castaways vying for the $1,000,000 prize.
Yesterday, we took a look at 5 former Big Brother players we would like to see play Survivor. With this in mind, we decided to take a look at 5 Survivor stars we would like to see play Big Brother. To date, no former Survivor players have made the crossover to Big Brother so everyone is eligible to be on this list.
No. 5: Andrea Boehlke
Andrea is one of the better female challenge competitors Survivor has ever seen. In fact, that is typically what leads to her downfall in Survivor. Those challenge skills would translate very well to Big Brother where challenges are less physical.
She has also grown a lot since Survivor: Redemption Island as a strategist. In her first season, she blindly followed Boston Rob. Her next two appearances, she was making moves and blindsiding people herself. You know from her play on Survivor she would likely be a strategic force on Big Brother. It isn’t hard to see her making it deep into the jury phase and if she can save her competition wins for the right time, make it to the end.
No. 4: Nick Wilson
It is well known among Survivor fans that Nick is a huge Big Brother fan. He even gave his alliances names because he is such a Big Brother fan. Out of everyone on this list, I think Nick has the best shot at winning Big Brother.
Nick is a physically fit guy. He won 3 immunity challenges in a row when it counted on Survivor: David vs. Goliath. However, he isn’t really an alpha male. This is going to help his case greatly on Big Brother. Alpha males are often targeted early for their physical prowess.
Nick is also a very strategic player. He knows to win the game you have to work hard for it. He was supposed to be the first person voted out. However, he worked his way to the top after Pat Cusack was medically evacuated on Day 3.
At the merge, the original David tribe found themselves on the bottom at the merge. Nick again worked his way to the top after Nick found a vote steal advantage, his ally Davie Rickenbacker found a hidden immunity idol, and other ally Carl Bordeaux found a hidden immunity idol nullifier. However, after working to get a David majority, Nick found himself in the minority once again after Christian Hubicki and Gabby Pascuzzi turned on the David alliance.
He worked to find a hidden immunity idol. However, he ended up wasting it as he played it at the final 7, only to not receive a single vote. Out of idols and up against 4-2 Goliath majority, Nick won 3 straight immunity challenges to get himself to the final 3. He had received no votes against him during the course of the season. At the final tribal, Nick won the season in a 7-3-0 vote.
I feel this game savvy would translate well to Big Brother. There are no hidden immunity idols and Nick knows it. However, hard work can get you to the end. Just ask Jackson Michie about that.
No. 3: Jonathan Penner
As Michael Skupin, put it, Penner is entertainment on steroids. Penner would give probably the best DRs Big Brother has ever seen. He was also a master strategist. You can really just chalk it up to bad luck that Penner hasn’t finished about 7th place on Survivor.
I feel like Penner would do very well at Big Brother. He has a way of convincing people to do things that would work great in the house. He’s also a very strong player socially. It would also help him that his fellow houseguests likely wouldn’t know who he is given Penner hasn’t played Survivor in 7 years.
I also feel like Jonathan would fair a lot better at Big Brother challenges than he did at Survivor challenges. As we’ve said repeatedly, Survivor challenges are more physical. Jonathan is a very smart guy and would likely do well on the mental competitions.
With Jonathan’s strategic mind, I have no doubt he would go deep into the game on Big Brother. It is really a matter of if he can win competitions. It is nearly impossible to win Big Brother without winning a few competitions along the way.
No. 2: Parvati Shallow
Parvati is one of the greatest players in Survivor history. She is an extremely smart, cutthroat player. Men in particular are easily charmed and fall for Parvati. Just ask Nate Gonzalez, James Clement, and Russell Hantz about that. There is a reason she has made finals twice and won once in her Survivor career.
She is also one of two people to form a successful women’s alliance. She usually prioritizes working with women over men. Her women’s alliance in Survivor: Micronesia was incredibly lethal too. Just ask Erik Reichenbach.
Parvati has also been a force in challenges. She won 3 individual immunity challenges in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains and another one in Micronesia. With her track record in Survivor, it wouldn’t be hard to see her doing well in Big Brother.
No. 1: “Boston” Rob Mariano
Boston Rob is simply put one of the best players to ever play the game. Not only is he incredibly entertaining but he is very game savvy and ruthless at the sametime. If you are with him, you’re probably going to go far. If not, watch your back and look for a knife in it.
If Boston Rob was ever on Big Brother, I feel like he would have the biggest boom or bust scenario. Everyone knows his reputation from Survivor. He’s a challenge beast, he’s very strategic, and he’s won Survivor. Before he won Survivor, Boston Rob got his wife Amber a win on Survivor too. It is for that reason Boston Rob would likely be targeted very early. If Boston Rob could survive the first few weeks, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine him making it all the way to Day 99.
