1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Original Release Date: April 4, 2014

Box Office Earnings: Captain America: The Winter Soldier is largely considered one of the best Marvel movies. In fact, before Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok came along, it was arguably at the top of the list, at least on par with Iron Man. It wound up making more than $700 million at the box office.

Critical Acclaim: At this point, it’s almost pointless to ask how a Marvel did with critics. They’ve all done exceedingly will and Winter Soldier was no exception.

About the Role: Whereas in First Avenger we met Bucky Barnes, in Winter Soldier we meet, well, the Winter Soldier. This version of Bucky is a hardened brainwashed assassin who is being used to do HYDRA’s bidding.

Simply the Best: The movie begins with Steve Rogers working for S.H.I.E.L.D. after the Battle of New York. He quickly realizes that Fury isn’t telling him everything and gets involved in a new project known as Project Insight. But along the way, the Winter Soldier strikes putting everyone in jeopardy.

The bulk of the film revolves around Steve trying to break through to Bucky and make him remember who he really is while being shellshocked that he survived after all this time. Sebastian gets to do some of his best stunt work in this film and again, we see the importance of the Steve/Bucky friendship at work.
