4. Destroyer (2018)

Original Release Date: December 25, 2018

Box Office Earnings: Destroyer underperformed at the box office raking in only $5.5 million on a $9 million budget. Likely it got squashed by coming out at such a competitive time in the holiday season. It also didn’t play at a huge amount of theaters.

Critical Acclaim: Despite its low box office return, Destroyer did fine with critics. Nicole Kidman was praised the most but Sebastian was well-received too. Kidman received several nominations for her role in the movie including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

About the Role: This role was a marked difference from Sebastian’s previous roles. He spoke with excitement about the drastic physical changes he did to make the part work for him. He played an FBI agent named Chris who went undercover with Kidman’s character Erin.

Simply the Best: Destroyer is a great movie if you love crime dramas. It’s gritty and the acting is fantastic from everyone involved. The film follows LAPD detective, Erin Bell.

She is on the scene of a John Doe murder and informs them that she knows who the murderer is. Through a series of flashbacks that tell of the journey, she and Chris went on while they were embedded deep in a gang while on an undercover mission.
