6. How much did Nana Blossom really know?

It’s difficult to know how innocent good ol’ Nana Blossom is in the both the crimes of season 1, season 2 and season 3. While Nana has repeatedly expressed a sincere protectiveness over Cheryl and her safety, it would behoove viewers not to forget that this is the same woman who adopted a child from The Sisters of Quiet Mercy, just to marry her off to their own son.

Nana seems to be as in the dark as everyone else in regards to her son Clifford killing her own grandchild Jason, and she also appeared to be unaware that her long-lost second son Claudius (Clifford’s twin brother) was still alive. But while Nana might not be the one committing acts of evil against the citizens of Riverdale, she certainly doesn’t do much to the contrary, spending most of her time on the sidelines.

The only time Nana seems to really take one for the team is when she wakes up Toni to reveal that Penelope is planning to kill everyone in one last G&G game and encourages her to go help her friends. Now, while this does demonstrate an act of loyalty on Nana’s part, there are still a couple inconsistencies, like Penelope and Claudius not killing Nana even though she called Toni reveal Cheryl’s whereabouts, and the fact that Nana is repeatedly left unattended while a sinister plot is afoot. Does she know more than she leads on?
