Do we talk about Jessica’s confession? Dr. Tanaka getting her shot in with Malcolm? Malcolm and JT’s team up? Where do we start with Prodigal Son Season 1, Episode 4?

With each new episode of Prodigal Son, we’ve been left with something big to talk about. Last week, it was all about Jessica and how much she knew about the murders. Did she know all along? Before that, it was Malcolm’s flashbacks, etc.

This week, with Prodigal Son Season 1, Episode 4, we expected something again. A moment, either big or small, that would leave us fans talking until next week. Instead, the series decided to leave us with several topics to discuss and to be honest, I’m not sure where to start.

More from FOX

The number one topic of discussion is Jessica’s confession. We found out at the very end of the episode via a tape made during the interview by the police after Dr. Whitly was arrested that she knew something was wrong all along. However, she didn’t think he was committing murder. What she thought was going on was him having an affair. So, it looks as though she is good and was completely obliviously to the crimes being committed right under her nose.

The thing is, about halfway through the episode and before the confessional tape, we witnessed a flashback of an exchange between both Dr. Whitly and Jessica and I was pretty convinced based on the exchange that she knew what he was doing.

So, we’ll need to wait and see if anything else comes up from that certain storyline or whether it is done and dusted, and I just got it completely wrong.

All of that aside. Dr. Tanaka is killing it in the flirting department. She went all-in with a great shot at Malcolm, which sadly did not find its mark. I’m 99.9% certain though that was not her one and only shot though so maybe she will get lucky next week.

Malcolm and JT had some one-on-one time this week and that was a thing of beauty, giving off some Bad Boys or original movie Lethal Weapon vibes the way the two paired up with one another. We all need some more Malcolm and JT moments in future episodes of Prodigal Son.

Our final moment to focus on, which I think will become a major plot point moving forward, Ainsley went and met her father. Now, we learned in a previous episode of Prodigal Son that Ainsley has no memories of her father and she has always been forbidden from going to met him, unlike Malcolm who already had memories of him.

This is going to turn into something bigger. This will not be a passing moment that we forget about in the next few weeks or so. Expect something; I’ve no idea what, but something from the fact Ainsley went and met her serial killer of a father.
