From the press release, Ommegang’s My Watch Has Ended shares that it is brewed with two-row base malt, a “specialty grans such as oat flakes and chocolate malt.” It has hints of cocoa and toffee, and is more smooth than expected and has a dry finish. The average drinker will appreciate that this is not an overwhelming beverage as it goes down easy. At $11.99 a bottle, it’s also light on the wallet.

The release goes on to note that the 8% ABV beer is best enjoyed with a big meal such as a steak, as the maple notes play off well with the sweetness in the meat. Better yet, it’s also great for the upcoming winter months as you can happily enjoy it on a winter night on its own.
