9. Age of Adaline (2015)

Original Release Date: April 24, 2015

Box Office Earnings: Age of Adaline came in number three on its opening weekend since it had stiff competition with Furious 7 releasing at the same time. However, it still managed to rake in $65.7 million due to being a strong romantic film released during a time where there weren’t many.

Critical Acclaim: While the movie itself didn’t thrill critics, both Blake Lively and Harrison Ford were praised for their performances. Many even stated it was some of their best work in many years.

About the Role: Adaline Bowman is an extraordinary woman who was struck by lightning after a near-fatal car crash. Afterward, she stopped aging. She stayed physically 29 and apparently became immortal. Due to this, she was forced to stay on the move and unable to put down roots so no one would discover her secret.

Simply the Best: Blake is excellent as Adaline in this film. She somehow manages to capture the aging of a woman while still maintaining her normal youthful stature.

Even though she appears young, you somehow believe she is truly a 100-year-old woman due to the elegance and craft she brings to this performance. The relationship between her and Ellis and William helps keep the film grounded as well.
