5. The Town (2010)

Original Release Date: September 10, 2010

Box Office Earnings: Considering its all-star cast, The Town did exceptionally well at the box office. It earned $154 million in total and impressed audiences and critics alike.

Critical Acclaim: Everything about The Town was praised by critics who gave it a 93% Rotten Tomatoes. Its tense plot, acting, and writing were all exceptional.

About the Role: Blake was nominated for Best Supporting Actress by the San Diego Film Critics Society for her performance. She plays Kris, the girlfriend of Ben Affleck’s character, Doug.

Simply the Best: Ben Affleck stars in this film as Doug, the leader of a group of notorious bank robbers. He is closest to Jeremy Renner’s character, James. Things change when James takes a hostage and Doug finds himself compelled to learn more about the woman who almost died. In the process, he falls in love with her.

This creates problems with his current girlfriend, Kris. Lively gets to play a much grittier role in this film as the girlfriend of a known criminal. She’s completely in the know about Doug’s dangerous side hustle. While her role isn’t huge in this movie it is important and ties in directly to some of the main conflicts in the film.
