Supernatural Season 15, Episode 3 delivered a heartbreaking episode that left us with plenty of questions. Here are my five biggest questions.
Supernatural Season 15, Episode 3 certainly gave us a heartbreaking episode. At the same time, we were left with plenty of questions. It’s time to break down the episode to look at the biggest questions for the rest of the season.
These questions are mostly focused on the things to come in the next few episodes. Here are my five biggest questions from “The Rupture.” Naturally, there are spoilers from the episode.
5. Is that really it for Ketch?
More from Supernatural
- Jensen Ackles and The Winchesters cast kick off #SaveTheWinchesters campaign
- Will The Winchesters be saved? (Can Supernatural fans save the prequel?)
- Did The Winchesters get renewed? (Is The Winchesters season 2 happening?)
- Is a new episode of The Winchesters on tonight? (March 14, 2023)
- The Winchesters Season1 finale explained: Did it connect to Supernatural?
Ketch woke in the hospital and immediately felt the need to get back to the Winchesters to help. Sadly, he wouldn’t get there. Ardat appeared and removed his heart. Literally.
Is that really it? Will this be one of those non-permanent deaths? After all, this is something Supernatural is known for, right? I think this is permanent considering the minimal episodes that we have left and the messages David Haydn-Jones has left on Twitter, but that doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed. He deserved more.

4. Is Belphegor really gone?
Another character left the show. Belphegor. We only got to know him for a couple of episodes, but it was immediately clear that he had his own plans. We found them out in Episode 3.
Castiel made the decision to smite Belphegor. It made sense, but you could see that he struggled doing that. However, is that it? We know Billie and Jack are in the Empty right now. Will they gather some of the other fallen demons and angels, including Belphegor?
3. Will Sam be able to move on after the events?
Poor, Sammy. We knew that he would be the one to kill Rowena. He didn’t want to but he knew that he had to. There was no way that Rowena could do it herself, keeping her personality traits intact until the end.
Now Sammy is going to have to deal with everything that he did. While he knows he had to, that doesn’t mean he’s not going to feel bad about it. Will he be able to move forward with two losses in the space of hours?
2. When will Jack return?
Let’s be honest, we know that it’s going to happen. Jack was woken in the Empty by Billie at the very end of Supernatural Season 14. We just haven’t seen why since the start of the season. When is that going to happen?
While it’s clear that Episode 4 will mostly be a Winchester-focused episode, there may be other elements of the story added in. We could finally see Jack return with whatever Billie is doing, too.
1. Is there a way Dean and Castiel can find their way back?
The very end of the episode saw Castiel walk away. Feeling unwanted and unneeded, he decided it was time to move on. I get why Dean is still angry—he’s at that stage of grief—but that doesn’t mean I’m not feeling bad for Castiel.
Supernatural won’t end with the relationship like this, will it? We’re not going to be left with Dean and Cass no longer speaking to each other, right? So, how long will it take for them to find their way back to each other?
