Comedian Chris Rock has been providing the laughs for decades now. Let’s look at a few of his most hilarious films throughout the years.

Chris Rock has had an illustrious career, spanning from the mid-1980s to the present day. Any facet of entertainment you can name, Rock has been a part of. The actor’s first notable film appearance came in Beverly Hills Cop! starring Eddie Murphy, which released in 1987.

Since that first gig, the now 54-year-old actor has headlined stand-up comedy specials, starred in numerous comical films/TV shows, and hosted major award ceremonies. Rock is a versatile entertainer with tons of memorable punchlines in his works. He has also written scripts and been a producer for a couple of films. The seasoned actor is set to star in three films that will be released in 2020.

Throughout the years, Rock has released countless work, with some being more memorable than others. He is known for his comedy, and he usually never disappoints in his films (from a comedy perspective). Most of his movies are well-liked, so here are just a three of the actor’s funnier films:

Down to Earth (2001)

In this film, Rock stars as Lance Barton, a failing comedian who cannot seem to find success. The down-on-his-luck comic finds himself in a tough spot in life but is suddenly killed after being hit by a truck. Yet, this is not where the story ends.

Barton finds himself waking up in heaven, and this is not a dream. After conversing with the angels in heaven (Chazz Palminteri, Eugene Levy), Barton is granted a second chance at life and can return to Earth, the only catch is he is not in his own body!

With no other alternative, Lance’s soul takes over the body of an old rich guy named Charles Wellington III, and the comedian is out again to prove himself; same old personality, but different appearance.

Death at a Funeral (2010)

Wanting to keep a respectable memorial for his late father, Aaron Barnes (Rock) easily becomes immersed in an array of issues on the day of the funeral. As his relatives continue to arrive, Barnes deals with a multitude of problems, including a body switch-up.

As if that’s not a major conundrum, the growing pile of predicaments the main protagonist has includes unsatisfied mother Cynthia (Loretta Devine), nagging wife Michelle (Regina Hall), hotshot brother Ryan (Martin Lawrence) and his annoying charm, the newly discovered lover of his father named Frank Lovett (Peter Dinklage), and his cousin’s crazy boyfriend Oscar (James Marsden). The day is anything but peaceful for this entire family!

Grown Ups 2 (2013)

Featuring a comedic dream team, Grown Ups 2 contained tons of humor and silly antics. Summer was just beginning in the small Connecticut town of four friends (Kevin James, David Spade, Adam Sandler, Rock), which meant the fun was just beginning too.

Rock’s character, Kurt McKenzie, was especially hilarious. From throwing a drink in a kid’s face to ding-dong ditching his mother-in-law, Rock’s shenanigans were on full display in this film. And that’s excluding getting dared by a group of frat boys to jump off a cliff nude with his buddies, AKA the other fellow comedians. Grown Ups 2 may have not been an award-winning film (the good kind), but it was certainly a comedic classic given it had so many hilarious actors and actions.
