Throughout 9-1-1 Season 2, we got to see how various members of the 118 got their start. Now it’s time to turn our attention to Athena in 9-1-1 Season 3, Episode 7.
Throughout 9-1-1 Season 2, we got to see how Hen and Chimney got their starts with the 118. There was certainly some racial and gender discrimination going on for both. For Hen, we got to see her friendship with Athena also being. In 9-1-1 Season 3, Episode 7, it’s time to see Athena’s beginnings.
She got her start in the L.A. Police Department in the late 80s and early 90s. You just know that there was plenty of racial and gender discrimination going on, but that wouldn’t have stopped our Athena. She’s strong-willed and knows exactly what she wants. She’ll work to get there.

So, how do we end up going to her past? It’s all going to start with a case that was close to Athena’s heart in the past. It looks like something never got solved and now she’s going to try her hardest to make sure it is this time. Instead of all being set in the past, it sounds like we’ll get flashes. After all, since the past is set in 1989, we’re not going to see Angela Basset play Athena but another actress to portray the younger, probably slightly more naïve version.

The case is going to be a hard one. It turns out that the old case is that of the shooting of an officer. More specifically, of Athena’s fiancé. And she blames herself for the case so now she feels like she needs to solve his murder.
