8. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

Original Release Date: April 18, 2008

Box Office Earnings: Rudd has made a career out of excellent comedy choices. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is another classic film. It made $105 million at the box office.

Critical Acclaim: Critics loved how Forgetting Sarah Marshall approached the romantic comedy by mixing it with plenty of raunchy moments and filling the cast with brilliant actors like Jonah Hill, Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Bill Hader, and of course, Paul Rudd.

About the Role: Rudd’s role in this movie is much smaller than that of some of the others on this list. That said, it’s still hilarious and plenty memorable. He plays a surf instructor at the resort where Jason Segel’s character Peter is staying.

Simply the Best: I still sing “the weather outside is weather” to myself all the time in the winter months. Rudd may have a small part to play in this movie but that doesn’t make it forgettable.

This time he gets to play something a little different as a lovable but idiotic teacher who you would definitely not want to be your lifeline when out in open waters. He is a complete airhead. His interactions with Segel are, yet again, an absolute highlight of the movie.
