3. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

Original Release Date: July 6, 2018

Box Office Earnings: As part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first Marvel film to follow up after the fateful “snap” from Avengers: Infinity War, it’s no surprise this film wound up making a staggering $622 million.

Critical Acclaim: Ant-Man and the Wasp performed even better than its predecessor. It was praised for being funnier, fresher, more action-packed, and for the upgraded role of Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne and Wasp.

About the Role: Scott Lang returns as Ant-Man in a more confident role than before. Although he does have to contend with a falling out between himself, Hank, and Hope at the beginning of the film due to getting the suit stolen by the government and getting arrested per the events of Captain America: Civil War. When we first see Scott again this time, he’s on house arrest still.

Simply the Best: This movie is one of my personal favorite Marvel films. The cast was excellent together and I was thrilled to see a bigger role for Hope and Wasp. Plus, this is the film that finally reintroduces Janet van Dyne into the MCU, a moment long overdue.

Additionally, Ant-Man and the Wasp opened the door for time travel through introducing the quantum realm which played a big role in Avengers: Endgame.
