The hype around Season 4 of Rick and Morty is real. With half of the season coming in early November, here are a few questions before it begins.

After two years of waiting, Season 4 of Rick and Morty is finally here. While it might not be a full season, we’ll be getting half of Season 4 now and the other half later. It’s not perfect but gives the show’s team a chance to expand more on the series and its universe. At this point, there aren’t many details out about the series besides what happened at the end of Season 3.

Either way, that leaves a lot of room for us to speculate and guess what’s going to happen in this first half. Before Season 4 premieres though, there are a lot of questions that fans have and things that should be addressed in Season 4. However, there are five questions that have been plaguing me and hopefully will receive an answer soon.

1. Will Beth and Jerry’s reunion hinder anything involving Rick, Morty or Summer?

The first question that comes to mind isn’t about Rick or Morty but rather about Beth and Jerry as a lot of Season 3 focused on their divorce. At the end of Season 3, the two presumably got back together.  Rick has been an area of strain for Beth and Jerry so will the two be able to patch things up with Rick around and still allow him free reign to do as he pleases? Since Jerry’s kind of a pushover, it’ll be interesting to see how he and Rick try to co-exist again.

2. Will “Evil Morty” make an appearance in Season 4?

Moving onto the second question, this one is focused on Morty and it’s if we’ll be seeing another appearance of “Evil Morty?” Fans went wild when they learned about Evil Morty and we got a glimpse of what Morty could become in “The Ricklantis Mixup.” It was frankly a lot different from the tone of what the show up until that point and it sort of followed that same pattern until the season ended. Right now, Morty’s character is all over the place so trying to narrow down one is going to be a challenge.

3. Will Tammy and or Phoenix Person appear in Season 4?

Speaking of characters making a reappearance, another question is if we’re going to see an appearance from either Tammy or Phoenix Person? At the end of Season 2, we found out that Tammy was an agent for the Galactic Federation and then she recreated Bird Person as someone to do her bidding. Since then, we have yet to see them make an appearance but Season 4 could be the perfect time for them to show back up. It would make sense as the show is taking a darker tone for them to come back but we’ll see.

4. How dark will Season 4 truly be?

Moving away from characters, this next question is going to focus more on the episodes and the series as a whole. Rick and Morty have already tackled a lot of dark topics such as suicide, depression, abandonment and a complete lack of mortality. With Season 3 turning dark in the latter half, how dark will Season 4 be? Season 4 has the potential to be the darkest season yet which is exciting as the writers aren’t afraid to push the envelope. Of course, they could employ a similar technique as they did last season but the Rick and Morty team always seems to be keeping us on our toes.

5. How will Season 4 wrap-up midseason?

Coming up with this last question was tough as there are so many plotlines, character moments and general messiness to unpack with Rick and Morty. However, the last question is one that’s simple but one that I’m sure most of us are thinking. Of course, Season 4 is going to be good but how will they wrap up mid-season? Will the first half of Season 4 leaves off on a cliffhanger and make us wait years? Two legitimate questions and honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if Rick and Morty left us high and dry right before Christmas.

Either way, Season 4 of Rick and Morty is poised to be their biggest yet. As previously mentioned, the show was given a 70-episode order which is a huge deal. There are so many things they can expand on with that kind of arrangement and Season 4 is just the beginning for the series.

Season 4 of Rick and Morty premieres November 10th on Adult Swim at 11:30/10:30c.
