Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4 brought us a monster-of-the-week episode, along with a focus on God. Here are my five favorite lines from Atomic Monsters.

The first monster-of-the-week episode of Supernatural‘s final season was certainly entertaining. It was also meaningful, as we focused more on Sam’s mental health. Along with all that, we learned a little more about God, as he turned to an old flame for help.

“Atomic Monsters” delivered a number of excellent lines. Here are my five favorite lines, along with why they stand out so much.

And these towns, everything’s the end of the world. You’re late for work, your kid doesn’t get into the right school whatever. They don’t. They have no idea what’s out there.

Poor, Sammy. He’s struggling so much right now. It’s easy to understand why, but that doesn’t stop us from hurting for him.

However, this line is important. We get to see how much Sam is starting to resent everything. He resents that people live a normal life, that they get to believe being late for work is the end of the world. You see, he’s been through enough “end of the world” moments to know what it’s really like.

They just sit around and do laundry and talk, you know? I mean, that’s what people like the most, anyway.

Ah, Becky. While I don’t like her for what she did in Season 7, I do respect that she feels terrible about it. She knows that it was wrong. The writers admit that it was terribly wrong.

Now, we get this moment of connection. You see, we don’t need all the fighting and the monsters. Sure, they help to keep us on our toes, but the Winchesters talking to each other is something we all love. After all, you just have to look at the normal world fan fiction out there to see which moments fans love. This is just a beautifully meta line.

I’m happy for you Becky, that you like yourself. Because I kind of hate me right now.

Chuck says something that we all feel. He hates himself at this time. It’s also something Rob Benedict mentioned at SPN Tor. He doesn’t like what Chuck is doing right now.

It shows that this isn’t really something that Chuck planned. However, he just can’t help himself when it comes to his temper. It suggests that not everything was completely written out, especially when it came to The Darkness. Is it the release of The Darkness that has led to this version of God? I guess we’ll find out.

This is just an ending. Yeah. I don’t know how I’m gonna get there, but I know where I’m goin’.

I know a lot of people hate Chuck, but he has some great moments throughout Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4. This last line is an important one.

While Becky thinks that Chuck is initially just writing a story, we know that he’s writing the final ending. He’s bringing us a hint of how he wants this whole story to end—a hint of what the writers have in store for us throughout the next 16 episodes.

And it’s hard not to feel like just cashing out. I felt like that, after Chuck back at the crypt. But you know what brought me back? You did.

Finally, it’s all about the Winchester brothers. Dean took the last great line of the night, as he tried to give Sam a pep talk. It’s not often that Dean admits that he needed pulling out of his head. Nor is it often that he admits who it was that pulled him out of his own head.

At this moment, Dean knows what his brother needs. While it doesn’t help immediately, it shows that Dean is there for Sammy, who is dealing with a lot of pain, loss, and grief. I really hope throughout this season the Winchesters are able to stick together. They need each other right now.
