Temptation Island is in full force, and one couple makes it feel like we’re closer to the end of the season than the beginning of it.

Every episode of Temptation Island makes you wonder why any couple would go on the show. Unless, of course, at least one of the people wants to leave their partner. Or maybe one or two are hoping for a reality television “career.” This episode is nothing different.

There is literally nothing that can be said that prepares you for this episode of Temptation Island. Wow. Jaw on the floor. Let’s hit it.

Rick and Ashley G.

Last Episode Odds: 2% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 0% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Ashley G. and KB start off flirting at the villa. She says he’s trouble and hot. He looks at her like one of those cartoons when the person on the deserted island transforms the other person into a piece of meat. Naturally, she picks him for the date. In fact, she’s almost given permission for the date because Rick says he’s not cuffing her.

Later, despite every single thing Ashley G. has said about Rick slipping up, opposite of the fact she said she wants to punch Medinah in the face when Rick picks her for the date, contrary to her trepidation about the entire premise of Temptation Island, she hooks up with KB on the VERY.FIRST.NIGHT. In a post-coital interview, KB hilariously quotes Captain Phillips: “I’m the captain now.”

One has to wonder what Ashley G. is thinking. Does she care about how she’s perceived at all? The tempters are supposed to make advances. The temptees are not. Rick even hesitantly receives a lap dance because he’s attempting to be true to Ashley G. Once he sees KB reach home base, however, he’s shocked. Expect Rick to go crazy the rest of the season.

Casey and Ashley H.

Last Episode Odds: 15% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 10% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Casey picks Payton for the date, which isn’t surprising. Let’s be real, if Ashley H. is Target, then Payton is Walmart. Meanwhile, Ashley H. picks an adult who willingly calls himself Deac.

What’s more interesting is the birthday party at the guys’ villa, where Casey receives lap dances. When Ashley H. sees this at the bonfire, she says she “literally want[s] to scream so loud right now.” Over a lap dance? Really?

Gavin and Esonica

Last Episode Odds: 49% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 45% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Remember, the first episode ended with a preview of the season that made Esonica and Kareem look like Morgan and Evan redux. As expected, she picks Kareem for their date. Gavin surprisingly chooses Toneata. Very minor, sparkler-sized fireworks exist between Esonica and Kareem. It could still spark a fire, however. Especially when she watches Gavin’s video at the bonfire, when he says Esonica may not be the one he wants to marry.

David and Kate

Last Episode Odds: 90% chance of success.

Updated Odds:  95% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Kate nearly vomited in the first episode. Sooner or later she’s going to loosen up; it’s only human. This episode she talks about marrying David. Their dates with Dominique and Kari are inconsequential.
