2. Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2

The next movie on the list should come as no surprise. For Jonas Brothers fans, this was basically the pinnacle of Disney Channel Original Movies. Once again, Disney was really trying to give the Jonas Brothers as much exposure as they could. With that being said, they decided to give the brothers their own movie.

Released in 2008, Camp Rock was the first in the two-part series. The film follows Mitchie, an extremely talented singer who is overheard by bratty superstar Shane and he makes it his mission to find out who he is as they didn’t see her face. The two lead roles were played by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas respectively. The film also featured Nick and Kevin in minor roles as the remaining members of Connect 3, the fictional band they were all in. According to Wikipedia, “it is the third most-watched DCOM ever.”

After the success of Camp Rock, a sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam was released in 2010. In this one, Camp Rock is taken by surprise as another camp, Camp Star is luring campers away, possibly resulting in it being shut down. The film also expanded upon Nick’s character, giving him a solo song and a love interest. Overall, the film was good but not as beloved as the original but still attracted fans.

As fans, we enjoyed both films but it’s clear that Camp Rock is better. For some, it was their introduction to the band and their music. Considering how popular these movies were, there was no way Disney wasn’t going to add them.
