7. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015)

Original Release Date: November 20, 2015

Box Office: As the last move in The Hunger Games franchise — for the foreseeable future anyway — Mockingjay: Part 2 smashed the box office. It made 653.4 million dollars in total. Although, surprisingly, that number is not as large as many were anticipating.

Critical Acclaim: For the most part, the film was well-received by critics. Mockingjay: Part 1 did do a little bit better, however. Audiences generally loved the movie.

About the Role: Dormer joined the franchise in Mockingjay: Part 1 as the former resident director from the Capitol, Cressida. In this film, her role is smaller, but she does join the march against the Capitol. She manages to survive the war and continues to broadcast the destruction to all the districts.

Simply the Best: Books fans were immensely pleased with Dormer’s casting as Cressida. She is what many were envisioning for the role. We get to see Cressida do a little more in the first Mockingjay film as she tries to help Katniss evolve into the Mockingjay and film promotional spots for District 13.

However, she is still a valuable asset to the team in the final franchise film too. It’s a nice change of pace from her traditional period drama roles as these movies are far more action-packed.
