With the 2010s soon to be in the rearview mirror, we decided to look back at Big Brother seasons of the past decade. Over the next several days, we will look at the most notable breakout player from each season (in our opinion) this decade. This will mean Big Brother 12 to Big Brother 21 with Over the Top and Celebrity versions included.

Today, we will be looking at the breakout star of Big Brother 12. There were plenty of options to choose from. Notable houseguests include Brendon Villegas, Rachel Reilly, Britney Haynes, Enzo Palumbo, and Hayden Moss. However, we could only choose one of them as the breakout star of Big Brother 12. Without further ado, here is our choice for the breakout star of Season 12.

Big Brother 12: Hayden Moss

Big Brother 12 had a variety of options to choose from. Ultimately, Hayden’s game was so impressive that he gets the nod as Big Brother 12’s breakout star. The entire season, Hayden was only ever nominated twice and only received one eviction vote against him.

Hayden started off Big Brother 12 strong as part of the dominant Brigade alliance. He won the first HOH of the season and nominated Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly for eviction seeing their showmance as dangerous. However, Brendon won the POV to save himself and Annie Whittington was nominated in his place. Annie was evicted 10-0.

Hayden was able to remain safe through weeks 2 and 3. During this time, he helped his Brigade alliance evict Monet Stunson and Andrew Gordon. It was also during the first three weeks that Hayden found himself in a showmance with fellow houseguest Kristen Bitting.

The showmance came back to bite Hayden during week 4. Rachel won her 2nd HOH of the season that week and nominated Hayden and Kristen for eviction. Britney Haynes won the POV that week and after some pressure from Rachel, chose not to use it. Kristen was evicted 6-1. The lone vote to evict Hayden came from Kathy Hillis.

Hayden was able to remain safe during weeks 5, 6, and 7. During this time, Hayden helped take out Rachel, Kathy, and his former Brigade ally Matt Hoffman.

On Day 55, at the back end of week 7’s double eviction, Hayden won his 2nd HOH of the season. He nominated Brendon and Ragan Fox for eviction, with the intention of evicting Brendon. When Ragan won the POV, it sealed Brendon’s fate. Ragan took himself off the chopping block and Hayden nominated Britney in his place. Brendon was evicted 3-0.

In week 8, Lane Elenburg won HOH and nominated Enzo Palumbo and Ragan Fox, with the intention of eviction Ragan. Enzo won the POV that week and used it to save himself. Needing a replacement nominee, he chose to nominate Hayden. Ragan was evicted 2-0.

In week 9, Hayden won his 3rd HOH of the season. He nominated Britney and Lane, with the intention of evicting Britney. By this point, Britney was the last houseguest standing who wasn’t a member of the Brigade. Hayden also won the POV that week and kept his nominations the same. With the lone vote to evict that week, Enzo chose to evict Britney.

On finale night, Hayden won his 4th HOH of the season, earning him a spot in the final 2. By default, Enzo and Lane were nominated for eviction. Hayden chose to evict Enzo as Enzo had been the mastermind of the Brigade. Hayden went on to defeat Lane in the final vote 4-3. Hayden garnered votes from Kathy, Matt, Ragan, and Enzo.

This was a tough a choice between Hayden and Enzo for breakout star of Big Brother 12 because of Enzo’s colorful personality and strong strategic game. However, Hayden’s game was too strong to ignore, thus he gets the nod. It also helped that Hayden went on to compete in Survivor: Blood vs. Water while Enzo hasn’t been seen since.
