Temptation Island Season 2, Episode 9: Updated odds and lots of sex
We are nearing the end of Temptation Island season two, and most relationships are done. Next season might need to be titled Breakup Island.
Temptation Island is that perfect flavor of incredibly entertaining, drama-filled reality show without the disgusting Keeping up with the Kardashians aftertaste. Without with orange juice after brushing your teeth repulsive shudder.
Before the final dates happen, some housecleaning to take care of. Chris and Chris are gone along with Colleen and one other woman. No shockers.
Rick and Ashley G.
Last Episode Odds: 1% chance of success.
Updated Odds: 5% chance of success.
Reason for the change: Rick is basically saying he wants to use the final date to talk about his girlfriend. When asking out Medinah, he lets her know it’s a friendship date. Unsurprisingly, Medinah is not all that enthralled about the proposition, but she accepts. Smart move, because it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Because KB is no longer on the show, Ashley G. takes Jose on the final date. He’s actually pretty cool, but there is absolutely zero chemistry. It’s completely baffling that Rick and Ashley G. are pining for each other after how this show started.
Casey and Ashley H.
Last Episode Odds: Snowball-in-hell% chance of success.
Updated Odds: Whatever-is-less-than-a-snowball-in-hell% chance of success.
Reason for the change: Despite picking Rachel for the last date, and taking her to the jacuzzi (i.e. sad tub) at their vacation destination date, and claiming to be this major player in real life, Casey makes zero moves. He still thinks he’s ending up with Ashley H. at the end of Temptation Island. Meanwhile, Ashley H. spends her last date with Ben professing love, giggling about their magical experience, and reenacting the waterfall scene from Cocktail.
For the record, Casey is Heath-Ledger’s-Joker-insane. He takes Rachel engagement ring shopping.
Gavin and Esonica
Last Episode Odds: 50% chance of success.
Updated Odds: 20% chance of success.
Reason for the change: Gavin has simultaneously realized he really loves Esonica and she seemingly wants to move on with Kareem. Meanwhile, Esonica previously had a night with Kareem in her bed where something may or not may have happened (hair pulling did happen). Then on their special, overnight date, they definitely have sex.
Somehow, this episode has a shock greater than Ashley G. smashing KB within 24-hours of sniffing the ocean air. Mia straight up rejects Gavin when he asks her out on the final date!! Yikes. Gavin follows it up by announcing what all women want to hear: “Hey Payton, would you like to be my second choice?”
David and Kate
Last Episode Odds: 0% chance of success.
Updated Odds: -25% chance of success.
Reason for the change: David obviously goes on a date with Toneata, and speaks to her on the date as if Kate is already in the rear-view mirror. He doesn’t realize, however, he’s the T-Rex in Jurassic Park, and the jeep is too far ahead for him to catch anyway.
For her part, Kate finally opens up to Dom. And by “opens up,” I mean “appears to have had sex.” He has been completely patient, and she has been emotionally beaten by what David has done. And by “what David has done,” I mean “David had sex on the show, again, this time with Toneata.”
