If you’re looking for a horror movie this Christmas, you’ll want to head to theaters right now. Black Christmas is now available.
No, this isn’t the 1970s version heading back to theaters (although you should be able to watch that on Shudder!). There’s a new version in town, because the Katie Cassidy version didn’t quite hit the mark the way the creators would have wanted.

The movie follows a very similar pattern to the first one. Hawthorne College is quiet over Christmas vacation. The majority of students have left to see their families, but many of the sorority girls on campus are still around. One by one, they are all killed by a stalker, but everyone thinks they’ve just gone home for the holidays.
In the past, we’ve watched as women get slaughtered on screens. Black Christmas tries to make some sort of change to that. The women are fighting back, and it may not be that easy for the stalker to kill his prey. That is if it’s really a “he” this time.
This is the latest horror from Blumhouse Productions. Jason Blum has been on a roll in recent years with these movies. Could he possibly do it again with this remake or is this going to be a flop? Critics and audiences both say a flop, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Lily Donoghue, and Brittany O’Grady star in this Black Christmas reboot. It could be good for a horror-themed laugh?
