This is the first part of the moment of truth for Temptation Island Season 2. Two of the four couples end with shocking surprise.

It’s pretty clear at this point; Temptation Island is the best reality show on TV. Heart-warming and hilarious, but also emotionally devastating, Temptation Island delivers.

If you’re not watching Temptation Island, bow your head in shame.

Final odds

Before the final bonfires burn multiple relationships to the ground for good, the last odds posted are as follows:

  • Rick and Ashley G. – 5% chance of success.
  • Casey and Ashley H. – Whatever-is-less-than-a-snowball-in-hell% chance of success.
  • Gavin and Esonica – 20% chance of success.
  • David and Kate – 0% chance of success.

The oddest couple is Rick and Ashley G. because neither was loyal but both want to get back with one another. For whatever reason. Rick should go with Medinah, but that ship has sailed.

Let’s get to it.

All four of the ladies and their overnight dates meet up post-coitus. Three of four couples have a glow. The other two are Jose and Ashley G. Shortly thereafter, Walberg tells the guys they have to leave. Sonic and Kate cry a little bit at first, and Ashley H. looks terrified and nauseous.

The overnight dates for the guys aren’t as exciting, obviously. Rick, Casey, and Gavin all reverse friend-zoned their dates. David and Toneata are feeling differently. Casey comes in talking about the ring he just bought, and everyone in the room has that “will there be armed guards at the final bonfire?”-look in their eyes. Walberg comes to see the ladies out and tell the guys they’re about to see their “girlfriends.” Casey has the same look Ashley H. had, but it looks slightly more like constipation.

Rick & Ashley G.

On the final drive he says he is not sure he can ever trust her again. The music sounds a little like Enya and foreshadows sappiness. When the couple sees one another again, they hug and tell each other “I missed you.”

Rick goes first. He talks about Medinah some, what he’s learned, how he’s grown. It’s almost as if he thinks HE is the one who should apologize (incorrect). Somehow he doesn’t mention seeing Ashley impersonating Angela Bassett in How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

Consequently, Ashley G. says the handcuffing comment early in the season made her feel provoked (don’t buckle Rick). Somehow she has the upper hand in the bonfire negotiation (c’mon Rick), and Rick silently listens on like a doormat with eyes (wake up Rick).

When prompted to make a final decision, Ashley G. asks if Rick will go first. Rick has FINALLY had enough and calls

Stella

Ashley G. out for her island booty call and insensitive comments about Rick. Ultimately he forgives her, they confess love for one another, and through a stone-cold, Stockholm syndrome visage, Rick says he wants to leave the island with her.

David & Kate

David says he’s going to be emotional. Kate is surprised by her lack of emotion. Nonetheless, this is what I expect:

Kate claims to know her worth, and her entire speech to David is about how he didn’t respect her. How he wasn’t committed to their relationship. She even goes so far to say he brought her on the show as a cowardly way to break up. Her insecurities prior to the show were obviously preyed upon by every eager guy in the house, and those affirmations knocked David down week by week. That and the threesome he alleges he didn’t have.

David spills the beans about all of his indiscretions, but Mark allows Kate to cut David off, which is BS because David was told to be quiet while she talked and he’s trying to be sincere about his apology.

dark. Next. Temptation Island: Kate interview

Temptation Island ends the episode before we know for sure what happens between David and Kate, but she says he doesn’t have to tell all of America he whored himself out. Sooooo, probably not staying together.
