4. Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings

When I first heard about Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, I thought it was Dolly Parton playing different versions of herself in each episode and that is not the case. Heartstrings brings heartfelt moments to life for the entire family in every episode in songs, laughs, and tears.

Heartstrings follows eight different stories behind Dolly Parton hit songs through inspiration, memories, and heartwarming moments. Every episode opens with Dolly Parton at Dollywood expressing her love for her iconic songs like “Bones,” “Two Doors Down” and how the song relates to the stories.

Dolly Parton shows up in some episodes of the stories, but every storyline has unique characters with some of your favorite celebrities. The eight episode arc is not enough for many of Dolly Parton songs, but hopefully there is a season 2 soon.

I really enjoyed all the iconic songs that were featured, and every episode had a powerful message behind it. The episodes showcased love, heartbreak, loss, friendship, and the courage to follow your dreams. Real stories that include faith and the importance of how no one walks the same road as you in life.

If you want to watch Heartstrings, be prepared to have a bunch of tissues handy. This is an amazing show for your family to enjoy while eating all of Santa’s cookies.
