22. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Why it’s in danger: On Twitter and other social media platforms, there seem to be a lot of hype surrounding the High School Musical reboot over at Disney Plus. What not everyone may have noticed is that all the hype was likely paid for by Disney. The right hashtags were all trending on Twitter, but they were all listed as “promoted by Disney,” so they were not generated by fans at all.

More from Entertainment

In fact, other than fun memes teasing the series, I haven’t seen much about it. Before or after its premiere. The musical comedy has already been renewed by Disney Plus for a second season, but so have most of their original shows. Will it live to see a third season? That’s all up to the fans!

Chances of renewal: 50/50

21. Carnival Row

Why it’s in danger: Much like High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (what a name!), Carnival Row on Amazon Prime was surrounded by a lot of hype. However, this was due to the stellar and interesting cast, and not because of bought promotions. Carnival Row stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne. The series has already been renewed for a second season, but will likely not see a third.

Chances of renewal: Unlikely

20. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Why it’s in danger: Amazon Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel may have many, many awards and nominations under its belt, but just because a series is critically acclaimed doesn’t mean ratings are great. The comedy has been renewed for a fourth season, but will it be the last one or can it secure a fifth?

Chances of renewal: 50/50
