10. Rhaegal, Game of Thrones

There were a lot of deaths that happened in the final season of Game of Thrones. I could put Jorah, Theon, or even Melissandre on this list, but I’m choosing one that rocked us more than any of the others. It’s all about Rhaegal at the hands of Euron Greyjoy.

Let’s be honest, the entire final season deserved better. (Maybe I should have put the death of Game of Thrones as a whole as No. 10.) But Rhaegal definitely deserved a hell of a lot better than being shot down in the flight to King’s Landing. Either he should have died at the Battle of Winterfell or during the Battle of King’s Landing. Not purely for shock tactics with Euron’s Scorpion.

9. Quentin, The Magicians

Speaking of characters that deserved better, Quentin arguably did. However, I will admit that I saw this death coming. So, it’s not exactly one of the most shocking TV deaths of 2019, but it is one of the most heartbreaking.

The Magicians Season 4 ended with him sacrificing his life to save his friends. It was supposed to be heroic, but it ended with a few loose ends in the story. Although, I will admit that in a way, it felt a lot like life in general. Some things are left unsaid or undone in life.
