A Quiet Place Part II: The one thing we don’t want to see happen in the movie
By Sandy C.
After watching the first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II, fans have one worry. Here’s the one thing we don’t want to see happen in the upcoming sequel.
Fans of John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place got a real treat to welcome the year 2020, the first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II. Now that we’ve watched it (we’ve linked it below, in case you missed it on New Year’s Day), we are hyped and ready! But there’s something we are hoping doesn’t happen. No, it’s not more deaths. As sad as they may be, we’ll accept them as long as they make sense with the story.
What we absolutely don’t want to see, is for a man to save the day.
The Abbott family is back, plus one! In the teaser, we see Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe), and the new baby carefully and quietly walk out of their safe house. After what happened in the first movie, and now with a new baby to protect, it’s likely the Abbott’s are searching for other survivors and a safer environment.
Before we chat further about why we don’t want a man to come save the Abbott’s, here are a few things we did love from the trailer:
- A look back
- More characters
- Evelyn ready for action
A Quiet Place picks up after the tragedy, so we were never sure how it all happened. It looks like the upcoming sequel will provide some answers, and we may even see John Krasinski as Lee Abbott again! In the short clip, we see Evelyn trying to get somewhere safe while in the car with her children as the alien creatures destroy and kill everything around them. They still don’t know that the monsters respond to sound.

We also love the addition of new characters. As much as we loved following only a small family, audiences don’t want to see a repetition of the first movie, but something new. As long as the Abbott family is the center focus, though, we’re all in.
After losing a child and her husband, Evelyn is taking no chances. She’s ready to fight and kill anyone who poses a threat to her family — and we love it! This is why we absolutely don’t want to see a man step in.

In the first trailer, we see a man help them out. And hey, we appreciate it, but feel cautious about what his role will be. He tells Evelyn that the people left are “not worth saving.” He gives me an odd feeling, though, could he be a bad person?
For starters, Evelyn doesn’t need a man to fill her late husband’s shoes. Though she may need some allies to get her children to a community, we hope one guy doesn’t turn out the hero. We want A Quiet Place Part II to be all about Evelyn.
If the movie can stay true to this, we’re sure it’s going to be amazing!
A Quiet Place Part II is in theaters March 20.
