In a monster-of-the-week episode, the Winchesters learned the truth about Bobby. Here are the best lines from Supernatural Season 7, Episode 19.

In Supernatural Season 7, Episode 19, the Winchesters finally learned what happened to Bobby after he died. It also brought us an old fashioned, monster-of-the-week episode. Here are my five favorite lines from “Of Grave Importance.”

It was a while back. We ended up on the same case. She was stressed and I …didn’t have a soul.

There are a few reasons why I love this line. It shows that the life of a hunter is complicated. Hunters look for quick hookups because they know there’s a chance they won’t live long enough for anything more. However, who would have thought one hunter would have slept with Sam, Dean, and Bobby?

But then, there’s also the connection to the running theme of everyone who sleeps with Sam Winchester dies. Even being soulless, he wasn’t able to prevent that “curse” falling onto Annie.

Wow. Dead. Ghost. Me. Three words you never want to use in a sentence.

No hunter would realistically want to end up as a ghost. Of course, she’s saying this to Bobby, who did make a choice. However, I did always think that the three words would work well together for a hunter, especially with the way the Winchesters tend to say “kill them dead.”

For the record, I hated that Swayze flick – romantic bullcrap.

Bobby and Dean have some big differences in movie tastes. We already know by this point that Dean will watch anything with Patric Swayze in it. Whether it’s Ghost or Dirty Dancing, he’ll enjoy it because it is Swayze. That’s not the case for Bobby, although it’s clear he has some sort of interest in Swayze movies since he knows of Ghost.

All right now. I can kill werewolves, fix a Pinto and bake cornbread. I will be damned if I can’t get Zen!

Poor, Bobby. He’s trying so hard to figure out how to move things. In a way, this is why he can’t “get Zen.” He’s trying too hard.

However, it does go somewhat against the way Dean managed to move things. He started by getting angry.

What were you thinking, Bobby? You could be in Heaven right now, drinking beer at Harvelle’s, not – not stuck…

And we end with Dean’s line. He’s angry that Bobby ghost to stick around as a ghost. After all, he and Sam know what this means for Bobby. It’s not easy for Bobby to get to Heaven. Bobby is more likely to turn into a vengeful spirit instead. Dean is scared, and that always shows through as anger.
