Supernatural Season 7, Episode 21 brought us Kevin’s introduction. Here are the five best lines from Reading Is Fundamental.

We first met Kevin Tran in Supernatural Season 7, Episode 21. It was certainly a memorable introduction, and the episode was actually pretty funny. There were some excellent moments and lines. Here are my five favorite lines from “Reading Is Fundamental.”

He’s been like the naked guy at the rave ever since he woke up. Totally useless.

Meg starts my lines off, as she tries to explain what Castiel is like since he woke up. It’s a description that Dean will certainly understand. More than that, it’s something that we can all picture. Even those who hadn’t been to a rave would be able to picture just how useless the naked guy is…and therefore, how useless Castiel has been.

It’s uh… Kevin Tran. He’s, uh, in advanced placement.

What a way to introduce Kevin to Dean Winchester, right? Sam has no idea how to explain this kid. To be honest, nobody really knows what he’s doing here at this point. So, it’s best to explain it all through the things that he’s said previously in the episode.

Kevin’s only worry was the SATs and getting into Princeton up to this point. Little did he know, but his whole life was about to change forever.

I don’t know what you’re saying, but it seems kind of like an “in case of emergency” note.

Dean goes on about what the Word of God is supposed to say. Of course, everything that Dean says makes sense to us but means absolutely nothing to Kevin. However, he figures out that Dean just really wants to know what’s written on the tablet. Kevin can share that immediately. We get that reminder that he’s definitely smart, but the knowledge that he also has common sense.

You seem troubled. ‘Course, that’s a primary aspect of your personality, so I sometimes ignore it.

Castiel notes something about Sam that we’ve always known from the beginning of Supernatural. He tends to be troubled, taking the whole weight of the world on his shoulders. However, unlike us, Castiel tends to ignore Sam’s pain.

Crazy!Cas was always a fun one for me. He let go of the last bit of the filter that he had, which made for some laugh-out-loud moments.

Well, you know me. Always happy to bleed for the Winchesters.

Finally, we see Castiel back on side with Team Free Will. After giving up his sanity for the sake of Sam, he now offers up his blood. After all, he is a fallen angel. There are no questions about him doing this; no expectation that he will. This is something that he just chooses to offer.
