There’s been little promotion about Alex Garland’s Devs, set to air on FX on Hulu. Now we have a trailer, release date, and more.

We’ve known very little about Devs since the announcement that it was coming back in August 2018. Even NYCC 2019 didn’t give us too much, except setting the stage for the lead characters. But FX’s TCAs brought a little more news and buzz around the thrilling series.

Now we have a trailer, a release date, and some teases of what to expect in the series from Alex Garland. Yes, that’s the same man who brought us Ex Machina and Annihilation. Quite honestly, he is the one that has already put this show on the list of ones to watch in 2020.

Originally set for FX, things are changing slightly in the release. It’s now going to be exclusively on FX on Hulu, so you will need a Hulu subscription to stream. It’s one of four shows to get this treatment, hoping to grow the entertainment empire on Hulu. Outside of the U.S. isn’t clear just yet. The U.S. release on FX on Hulu is set for Mar. 5, 2020.

The trailer is going to make a subscription worth getting. It’s setting the story of a woman, Lily, played by Garland’s regular collaborator Sonoya Mizuno, who decides to head into Devs to find out why her friend is missing. She has an idea of what happened to know, but she needs to know why. She needs to figure out what Devs really is.

The cast will also certainly draw you in. As well as Mizuno, Parks and Recreation‘s Nick Offerman stars as the main villain—well, he seems like a villain, but is everything as it seems?—Jin Ha, Zach Grenier, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, and Alison Pill. They all bring something unique to he series, offering a character you’re going to root for or want to know more about throughout the series.

There are eight episodes to the first season and they will release weekly through the subscription service. Are you ready?
