Hot off the back of a three-season renewal, New Amsterdam Season 2 is back with its midseason premiere. Here’s what to expect and how to watch live.
The NBC winter TCAs was a great time for New Amsterdam fans. We learned that we’ll get three more seasons of the medical drama. And now, we get to watch the New Amsterdam Season 2 midseason premiere.
It’s been a while since the medical drama has offered new episodes. The last we left the team, they were entering a lockdown. The patient from Rykers who suffered a heroin overdose was actually not an addict. Instead, she was attacked and almost murdered for whistleblowing.

Now other Rykers inmates have managed to find a way to get to the hospital, where they’re ready to take out the whistleblower. This means putting all the patients and staff at New Amsterdam in direct danger.
Things aren’t looking good for one of our favorites. Someone is getting shot, but does that mean we’re losing them? Is there anyone we’re ready to say a permanent goodbye to? Oh, hell no!
TVLine has an interesting sneak peek, which sees Bloom wheeled into a room for safety to a woman in a lot of pain. It turns out her appendix is about to rupture, but nobody is going to take her down to the OR under the circumstances. What is Bloom going to do, especially while she’s in a lot of her own pain?
Meanwhile, Max will need to protect his own infant daughter, while Sharpe will need to deal with the consequences of her actions (and trusting a certain department co-head?). The last we saw, she was fired, but will her actions during the lockdown save her job? We can hope, right?
