Good Trouble officially resumes Season 2 tonight on Freeform. Here’s how you can watch the midseason premiere live.
Does anyone else feel like it’s been an eternity since we were blessed with weekly episodes of Good Trouble? Luckily we had Christmas at the Coterie to tie us over after the hiatus began in August. Now that the holidays are over, Callie and Mariana are diving head-first into 2020 with plenty of trouble to overcome.
Callie helps Malika
Callie has proven time and time again that she’s all about helping people, and this time, she’ll have to come to the aid of a Coterie friend. Malika gets herself in a bit of trouble when a “Jamal’s life matters” protest interrupts Judge Wilson, leading to police intervention. One sneak peek shows Malika getting escorted away, while another preview teases her brother and boyfriend being unable to contact her.

The official preview for this week’s episode states that Callie will go to an old friend to help Malika get out her situation. Based on the preview, we know that Ben (Ken Kirby), a clerk for Judge Wilson, was on the scene of Malika filming the protest and attempted to stop her. Will Callie consult Ben, or will she seek help from another familiar face?
Mariana’s work trouble
Mariana returns to Spekulate to discover an investigation is in the works, and Evan is no longer speaking to her. The official trailer includes a clip of Mariana approaching Evan, but he dismisses her by saying she’ll have to schedule an appointment with his assistant. Mariana also questions whether to come clean about pushing Amanda to sue for wrongful termination out of fear that everyone will be fired.
Gael helps Davia?
Davia is going to have a rough time when she learns that Jeff’s wife is posting horrible things about her on Instagram. Rather than letting the cyberbullying drag her down, this clip previews Davia dressing up and swiveling her hips to rediscover her confidence. Things will take an interesting turn when Davia arrives at Gael’s door for assistance. It looks like these two will collaborate on a “clapback” video for social media. How will Dennis factor into Davia’s self-esteem issues? Does he come to her aid?
Jude returns
Judicorn! Following a guest role in the two-part holiday special, Hayden Byerly is back as Jude but we don’t really know why. Good Trouble‘s official Twitter account revealed he will reunite with Callie during the show’s “emotional” return. Is Jude back to see his new boyfriend? Or is the Coterie drama with Mariana getting to be too much for Callie to handle?
