While we’re waiting for Supernatural Season 15’s midseason premiere, we have the synopsis for the following episode. It looks like luck is running out in the fight against Chuck.

Of course, there are some spoilery elements to this synopsis as we don’t know how events in “The Trap” will play out. If you feel like synopses are spoilers, then you’ll want to avoid this post. Just a fair word of warning.

The episode is titled “The Heroes’ Journey,” which already leaves a few fears. The Winchesters are heading off to help an old friend, but that all turns into trouble. When doesn’t seeing an old friend turn into something dangerous?

It’s going to be interesting to see who the old friend is. Considering the “appa-teaser” included some clips of Jody, there is the possibility that they’re heading off to help her. Jody calls someone to say “she’s dead,” but right now, it’s not clear who the “she” is. My gut is going with one of the Wayward Sisters, completely closing the door on a spin-off ever being possible.

Whoever it is, the Winchesters’ luck may have run out. The promo also showed images of the brothers trapped in a room, willing to go out like Butch and Sundance. This has been a running theme, but it looks like they’ve finally admitted that they could die in this fight. They’re going into it with all gun’s blazing.

Of course, this is the halfway mark of the final season. We know that we can’t possibly lose both of our leading men. However, we could end up saying goodbye to a few other characters with it being the final season. Will this be Jody’s goodbye?
