As Supernatural returned up, Legacies returned down. Meanwhile, Deputy fell for a second week in a row. Here are the Thursday TV ratings.

The majority of networks had new episodes of all shows on Jan. 16, including The CW. As Supernatural returned up, sadly, Legacies lost viewers and in the demo. Meanwhile, Deputy continued to fall while Evil saw a healthy tick up. It’s time to break down the Thursday TV ratings.

CBS was blessed with an overall positive night. Things started with Young Sheldon winning both the demo and total audience across the entire night, with the audience up 16%. That continued with good results in The Unicorn (up almost 20% in the audience) and Carol’s Second ActMom did see an upward tick in the audience but lost 12% of its demo.

The best show of the night in the demo for movement was Evil, which was up 25%. The total audience was also up 6%. With it being the penultimate episode that’s not surprising and we’ll likely see another upward tick next week. The great news is Evil has already been renewed for a second season.

FOX started off well with Last Man Standing ticking up almost 10% in the audience for the first episode, and those figures held steady for the second episode of the night.

It was Deputy where the network struggled, losing another 14% of its demo and 10% of its total audience. The series needs to start stabilizing soon if it’s going to get a second season.

Another show struggling is Perfect Harmony on NBC. With the demo falling another 25%, it’s back into CW territory, and the total audience isn’t anything to help support it either. It dropped another 16% to 1.34 million.

NBC saw drops throughout most of its night though. The network won’t be worried about Will & Grace and The Good Place as the two shows are ending and Superstore likely will be renewed, but it’s going to want to consider what its Thursday nights are going to look like soon.

It’s not like Law & Order: SVU fared that much better. Its demo was down another 14% and the total audience down 3% from the previous new episode. I think the series may get one more season, mostly to ensure storylines have a chance to wrap up.

Meanwhile, The CW’s lineup returned. This isn’t a network we need to be worried about. All current shows have been renewed, except for those ending. The only show that didn’t get picked up for a second season during the TCAs was Katy Keene, but it did get an extra 13 episodes.

That being said, Supernatural did tick up by 11% and 5% in the demo and audience respectively. Legacies fell 28% and 22% respectively.
