With 21 seasons and 3 spin off version of Big Brother in the books, we decided to take a look back at Big Brother history. Now, we’ve decided to take a look back at the 5 dumbest moves in the show’s history. This will include the Celebrity and Over the Top version of the show.

To qualify for this list, this has to be a moment that Big Brother fans would remember and talk about how stupid it was. This could come from any portion of the game whether it is nominations, volunteering to go on the block, using the POV on someone you shouldn’t have etc. You get the idea. Checking in at No. 4 is Zach Swerdzewski not using the POV at the final 5 to take out one of the Donato’s.

No. 4: Zach Swerdzewski doesn’t use the POV at final 5, missing an opportunity to take out one of the Donato’s

In Big Brother 8, there were two big twists. The first was that some houseguests would be playing with their nemesis. The nemesis were “Evel” Dick Donato and Daniele Donato (estranged father and daughter), Carol Journey and Jessica Hughbanks (former best friends), and Dustin Erikstrup and Joe Barber (ex boyfriends).

The other was that Eric Stein was playing as America’s Player. America gave him 3 tasks each week ranging from who to get nominated to who to vote to evict, and whose pillow to pour mustard on among other things.

By the time the final 5 came around, the Donatos had been running the show almost from the beginning. On Day 69, Evel Dick won HOH and nominated Jameka Cameron and Eric Stein for eviction, with the intention of evicting Eric. Zach won the POV that week and had the opportunity to make a huge move.

If Zach had simply chosen to use the POV on either Eric or Jameka, Evel Dick would’ve been forced to name Daniele the replacement nominee. This would’ve meant that Zach and the player he vetoed would’ve had the only 2 eviction votes that week. Thus, they would’ve been able to evict Daniele and break up the power duo and level the playing field for the final 4.

However, Zach decided to keep nominations the same. Instead, Evel Dick got his way and Eric was evicted in a 2-0 vote.

As it would turn out, the Donato’s both made the finals with Evel Dick defeating Daniele in a 5-2 vote. Zach finished in 3rd place after losing the final HOH competition to Evel Dick.

This move checks in as the 4th dumbest because if you have a chance to break up the power duo, especially that late in the game, you do it. Zach failed to and it wound up costing him the game.
