Dynasty reveals the aftermath of Adam and Liam’s fight, while Alexis heats up Blake’s trial and Fallon does her best Elle Woods in the courtroom.

The chill you’re feeling in the air isn’t a cold front. It’s the chilling return of Alexis Carrington on Dynasty, now with a Colby hyphenation on her name. Elaine Hendrix dons the characteristic black and white wardrobe and outrageous hats of Joan Collins’ Alexis, delivering a freshly ruthless take on the villainous matriarch. But Alexis has feuds to fuel and lies to tell on the stand, all of which earns due process from a particularly curious and determined Fallon. What, like it’s hard?

Meanwhile, Adam and Liam’s fight doesn’t result in a fatal fall for either party, though someone walks away with broken bones and an even more broken spirit. More than anything, Adam learns just how fickle his father’s allegiance can be in the face of betrayal. He might be one to talk, but Blake sure walks the walk… right out of a life sentence. Taking a break from our usual power rankings, let’s recap the latest episode of Dynasty with the five biggest revelations. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

1.  There’s a method to Alexis and Jeff’s madness.

As if it comes as a shock to anyone, Alexis and Jeff’s marriage isn’t built solely on love. They wanted to cause a stir, make a scene, and ruffle some feathers. Naturally, the news of their union disarms both of their complicated, intertwined families, prompting questions of possible blackmail and duress.

But behind closed doors, Jeff refers to their marriage as an “arrangement,” presumably designed to take Blake down. Still, they seem rather cozy and affectionate, don’t they?

2. Fallon pulls an Elle Woods to save Blake.

If there’s one thing that supersedes Fallon’s distrust of her father, it’s her deeper distrust of her mother. Being so, Fallon’s forced to choose the lesser of two evils, and considering her mother just married her ex-fiancée (and cousin!), she’s inclined to catch Alexis in her lies and help Blake in his trial.

Fallon resolves to poke holes in Alexis’ false testimony that she witness Blake kill Mac by checking her datebook and questioning her spray tanner. Donning a pink power-suit, Fallon goes full Elle Woods on the court and proves that Alexis couldn’t have seen the crime because of a spray tan technicality, resulting in a mistrial. Better the devil you know, I suppose.

3. Blake kicks Adam out of the manor.

Adam and Liam’s fight results in Adam falling off the ledge instead of Liam. He sustains a few broken ribs, but Fallon and Liam aren’t shedding any tears over Adam, especially since they know he caused Liam’s amnesia. Word of the vineyard burning down at the hands of Adam reaches Blake, and he’s not so forgiving.

Fearing the worst, Adam slaps on a fake mustache and buys the neighboring vineyard for Blake. But he receives a pink slip in place of gratitude. Adam’s temper tantrum and plummeting approval rating with Blake lands him seeking refuge in Alexis’ old loft. However, we have to remember: Hell hath no fury like an Adam scorned.

4. Dominique bows out of her feud with Alexis.

Unfortunately, Dominique wasn’t looped in on the tea of Alexis and Jeff’s marriage, causing her to worry about her son. She’s not wrong, but it’s an interestingly sudden bout of maternal instinct from Dominique, who probably subconsciously sniffs out the pairing as a threat when it comes to ownership over the Carrington fortune.

Wisely, Dominique overreacts to a push from Alexis on the courthouse steps, taking a tumble and crying wolf to both the public and Jeff. With her neck brace and her sob story, she leaves Jeff riddled in guilt as she takes a sabbatical in New York to plot her next strike against her new daughter-in-law and sworn enemy.

5. Fallon sneaks the truth out of Cristal.

Even though Fallon willingly stuck her neck out to help Blake, she’s too smart not to realize that where there’s smoke, there’s most definitely Blake with a scotch and a cigar. Fallon fabricates court documents from the opposing counsel and forges Blake’s signature. When she presents Cristal with the documents, stating that Blake admitted his guilt to settle, Cristal confesses that Blake killed Mac, also implicating herself (she’s still off the hook for tampering with the jury, though).

In an instant, Fallon knows everything she needs to know and that, maybe, she backed the wrong parent. Ironically, Alexis caused Blake to murder Mac, which is probably why she’s so insistent on her lies. Just wait until Fallon figures that out.
