We’ll get to meet the main characters, including Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler’s characters. We already have a rough idea about them.
Lowe will play Owen Strand, a New York firefighter who makes the decision to relocate to Austin, Texas with his son. There, he’ll take on his own firehouse, but he does have the request to choose his own team. His task is to rebuild the firehouse after a tragedy, which suggests that at least one (possibly the captain and possibly more) have lost their lives in the line of duty.
In fact, TVLine shares the events that lead to Strand taking over at the firehouse. A routine emergency takes a devastating turn that leads to just one survivor.
It’s clear the entire town is going to suffer from the tragedy, especially the other first responders. Expect some pushback throughout, especially from Tyler’s Michelle Blake, a paramedic who isn’t afraid to keep Strand on his toes.
This is a two-part episode, with the second part of the series premiere airing on Monday in the usual timeslot.
