How to watch The Magicians Season 5, Episode 2 live
The Magicians Season 5 started off with a tear-jerker of an episode. It’s time for the next step of the quests in Episode 2. Here’s how to watch live.
We knew that The Magicians Season 5 was going to be difficult to start. Like the characters, we were mourning the loss of Q still. But the show made a beautiful effort to bring us new quests, show us the different forms of grief, and get us ready for a new journey.
Now there’s plenty going on. Kady is trying to help the hedge witches, while Alice has agreed to work with the Library. Of course, Alice’s actions were to get the right spell to make a golem to bring Q back. We’re not likely to see Q. Instead, she’s likely unleashed some dangerous magic into the world.

Eliot has fought against grieving, bottling everything up. In a sneak peek for The Magicians Season 5, Episode 2, we see him meet up with Jane Chatwin, who comments on his stiff upper lip. It’s very British of him, but she also knows that this isn’t the best way to grief. Right now, Eliot isn’t grieving, but bringing Q back isn’t an option.
And the same goes for Josh and Fen, who were brutally overthrown in Fillory. Margo, after being imprisoned, saw Josh’s last night in the prison. He was terrified of the execution to come. How many more ghostly sightings will we get? Will we get to see Fen and Josh’s final days play out?
Then there’s Julia and Penny. Penny is now teaching at Brakebills, while Julia is working on moving forward in life. However, magic is unstable, so they’re going to be needed to deal with that.
